MapRun Tools

This page contains links to tools and videos contributed by third parties.

Thanks to all contributors.
General Tools

Michael Raz has a set of tools for MapRun at: https://maprun.raz-family.ca/index.html

See an array of tools that help with courses and results for MapRun at:  Lawrie's Orienteering Resources (auug.org.au).

See tools from Daniel Widman at: https://tools.widmann.ca/
GPX to KML

If you have a GPX file containing waypoints that you'd like to use as control sites. See this tool from Michael Raz. You may find this useful if you use CheckSites with your map, and take a walk to drop pins at control sites.
QR Code Generator

Thanks to Michael Raz for a QR Code generator to streamline creating QR Codes  if this mode of control punching is required.

This is an Excel-based system. It requires Windows.

There is also an on-line version of the QRCode generator, that should suit most common scenarios:

QGIS

Using QGIS for Rogaine map creation

Here is a video outlining the steps for producing a KMZ map file that can be uploaded to CheckSites:

And here's one showing how to export the course KML file:

Condes

Results to Excel

MapRun tools for accessing results and exporting them into Excel, Google Sheets or another results system are described here.

Another tool for extracting results and manipulating them in Excel,  thanks to Michael Raz:
