MapRun - QuickStart

The QuickStart option, allows you to set a GPS-based course, within MapRun on your phone.

You DON'T NEED a map file and you DON'T NEED a course from a course-setting system.

Just drop pins on the satellite imagery in the App to position your controls

• drag them to change the order
• swipe away any you don't want
• tap save ... and you are set to go.

Step by Step:

• Open QuickStart from the main menu button on the home screen of MapRun6.
• To add a control, drag the map so it is centred on the desired location, enter the name of the control, and tap Add.
• Use "S1" for Start and "F1" for finish.
• In the list, long-press a control then drag and drop to re-order, or swipe left or right to delete it.
• For a line course, put the controls in the order of the course.
• Tap Save or Cancel when finished.
• When saving, give the Event a name and it will appear in your list of Local Events (only on the phone you are using).
• See Event Types for how codes in the Event name determine scatter/line course etc. (These codes are optional)
• Also, you can change how the event behaves using "Options and Settings" on the home screen. 
• Open your event from the Local Events list, and go for a run....
