Contribute to MapRun®
MapRun is developed, maintained and operated by an Orienteer in Australia and their associates. It operates under the legal entity: FNE Pty Ltd as trustee for FNE Enterprises, which holds the IP and the registered trademark for MapRun®.
MapRun does not charge individual runners/participants for use of the App. The App is free in the App Stores and there is no subscription required by individuals.
The operating cost of the system is approximately 50c (USD) per participant per event.
To keep MapRun operating, we need Clubs that regularly use MapRun to make regular contributions to cover operating costs.
Clubs typically make a contribution at the end of a series of events, for example, for events in the last 3-4 months in a post-event arrangement.
More recently we have introduced a "pay-to-publish" arrangement, where clubs (ie MapRun Administrator) pay a fee to publish events, instead of a post-event payment. Under this arrangement the fee is set to still recover 50c (USD) on average per participant per event.
The "CheckSites" feature for testing, evaluation, map checking, control placement and small informal events remains free to use.
To analyse usage of a Club's events, either use:
- the Results system (with appropriate filters, and observe the 'Total Participation' count), or
- the Results API to export results into a spreadsheet.
